- Based on the qualifying criteria, both public and private hospitals are empanelled. The Hospitals are graded according to the facilities & Infrastructure available, e.g. Grade A, Grade B, Grade C and Grade R. The beneficiary has the option to choose hospitals where they want to go.

Swasthya Sathi is a cashless scheme and treatment cost up to Rs 5,00,000 (Five Lakhs per annum per family) shall be paid to the Hospital from the smart card. NO PAYMENT IS TO BE MADE FOR TREATMENT UNDER SWASTHYA SATHI SCHEME by the beneficiary.
Cashless service means that patient will not have to spend any amount for taking the treatment and hospitalization.
No. For all treatment under Swasthya Sathi, cost of medicines are included in the package.
OPD consultation is not covered, however if the OPD is converted IPD, all cost of treatment shall be covered under the Scheme.
It is the responsibility of the hospitals to arrange for all the medicines and tests needed for the treatment. The patient can deposit the cash memo/receipt and claim the reimbursement, if they have purchased it as per the advice / instruction of the Hospital.
Payment for transport under SWASTHYA SATHI is limited to Rs. 200/- only per hospitalisation, and Rs. 2000/- in a policy year. However if the treatment is done in any Government Hospital through Swasthya Sathi card additional transport allowance is provided and beneficiary will get Rs 400/- to Rs 700/- as Transport allowance.
Irrespective of the mode of transportation: Payment for transport under SWASTHYA SATHI is limited to Rs. 200/- only per hospitalization, Rs. 2000/- in a policy year for the Private Hospital.

Fingerprint verification is to prevent fraud and misuse of the smart card.

Pre-hospitalisation expenses are such expenses as are incurred by the hospitals before taking a view with regards to hospitalization. Expenditure incurred by the beneficiary on tests/ medicines which lead to hospitalization are also covered for reimbursement subject to production of proof. The hospital will also provide medicines and other assistance which are needed for patient till five days after discharge from the hospital.
Hospital will provide necessary medicines, tests etc. to the patient for this, and reimburse on production of bill of purchase.
A package charge means that all the expenses related to the treatment like medicine, tests, bed charges, other materials, food etc. will be part of package and hospital will not charge anything from the patient for these.
If the disease is not in the package rate, the hospital will take consent from the insurance company / SNA by way of raising a Pre-Auth & before blocking the amount. This will be within 24 hours, depending on the type of disease.
It will be the responsibility of the hospital and the insurance company / SNA to provide for alternative arrangements if the smart card reader is not working. The beneficiary will not be denied treatment in any case if the identity of the beneficiary is established.
In the hospital there will be a counter for SWASTHYA SATHI to guide the beneficiary.
The beneficiary needs to take only smart card when they go to the hospital and any other identify case issued by the Government. Also provide the correct Mobile Number to serve you better.
Smart Card is essential to get the service. However, in exceptional cases hospital can allow it after appropriate verification, which SHOULD BE WITH IN 24 HOURS. Please inform the hospital that Smart Card shall be produced within 24 hours.
If the consultation and medicine lead to hospitalization they are covered. OPD consultation is free.

A patient should immediately inform the DKM / SNA through the toll free number provided in the brochure given to him at the time of enrolment. The grievance can also be raised through the Mobile App.
Hospitalisation means admission to hospital for 24 hours or more. SWASTHYA SATHI applies to such hospitalization. However, it includes such day care treatments entailing less than 24 hours as are listed out.
